Storage & charging

Keep the power you paid for.

Solar without storage sends most of your generation to the grid for about 5c a kilowatt-hour, then sells it back to you at 35c after sunset. A battery closes that gap — and keeps your house running when the street goes dark.

24/7 Blackout backup on supported systems

Self-consumption figures are typical Australian household averages and vary with your usage pattern. Blackout backup depends on the battery model and how your switchboard is configured.

Battery options

Three systems we trust, sized to the job.

Sungrow
20–50kWh

Sungrow lithium-ion

Stackable modules for homes with heavy loads and commercial sites that need serious capacity. Add modules to reach the size the site actually calls for.

SigEnergy modular

Modular and genuinely scalable. Start at the capacity your budget allows and add to it as your household or business grows into it.

Installed properly

Neat work you won't mind looking at.

Batteries live on the side of your house for the next fifteen years. We mount them level, run conduit straight, label every isolator, and leave the site clean.

  • Compliant clearances and ventilation
  • Isolators and warning labels to standard
  • Commissioned, tested and handed over with the app running
  • Monitored from our end after handover

Off-grid

When there's no grid — or it isn't worth connecting to.

On rural blocks, a mains connection can cost more than the whole energy system. Off-grid means sizing generation and storage to carry you through the worst week of the year, not the average one.

We design off-grid systems around your genuine daily load, your seasonal low, and the days of autonomy you want before a backup generator has to start. It's a different calculation to a grid-connected system, and we do it properly.

  • Load assessment and winter-worst-case sizing
  • Days-of-autonomy specified up front
  • Generator integration where it makes sense
  • Remote monitoring so faults don't go unnoticed

EV charging

Charge the car on your own sunshine.

An electric car can draw more power than the rest of your house combined. Charged off the grid at night that's an expensive habit. Charged off your roof at midday it's close to free.

Switchboard & circuit upgrades

Most homes need a dedicated circuit, and some need the board upgraded. We do that work too.

Solar-aware scheduling

Set charging to run on daytime surplus so the car fills from the roof instead of the grid.

Questions

Batteries, honestly.

Is a battery worth it yet?

It depends on your usage shape more than anything else. If you're out all day and use most of your power after dark, a battery does a lot of work. If you're home during the day already using your solar directly, the case is weaker. We'll tell you honestly which one you are — we'd rather sell you the right system than the biggest one.

Will it keep my house running in a blackout?

On supported systems, yes — but it needs to be wired for it, and how much of the house stays live depends on the battery's output and how we configure your switchboard. Tell us backup matters to you and we'll design for it rather than treating it as a bonus.

Can I add a battery to solar you didn't install?

Usually. We'll check your existing inverter, switchboard and array first. Sometimes the cleanest answer is an AC-coupled battery that works alongside what you already have.

How long do batteries last?

Modern lithium batteries are warranted on both years and throughput — typically around ten years, with a guaranteed remaining capacity at the end of it. The specific terms come from the manufacturer and we'll show you them in writing before you buy.

What battery rebates apply?

Battery incentives in NSW change from year to year. We'll tell you exactly what applies on the day we quote you, and we won't quote a rebate you aren't eligible for.
